RESEARCH AND PUBLICATIONS - ANIPIO RESEARCH LINES 2021-2024

ANIPIO considers Research to be one of the fundamental pillars of its mission, committing to “promote and implement research projects in the field of infectious risk.”
This commitment to research led, in 2015, to the conduct of a clinical trial on hydrogen peroxide nebulization for terminal disinfection, aimed at preventing the transmission of healthcare-associated infections.
The ANIPIO Scientific Committee is currently engaged in several projects. The 2021–2024 research lines are outlined below.

ANIPIO RESEARCH LINES 2024-2028

Under development

ANIPIO RESEARCH LINES 2021-2024

1. Antimicrobial stewardship & nurses

Principal Investigator: Matteo Danielis
Research Group Members: T. Buttiron Webber, C. Barchielli, D. Regano This study aims to investigate the competencies of clinical nurses in the field of antimicrobial stewardship, describing the domains of competence and the metrics used to assess them. The objective is to evaluate the knowledge and practices of Italian healthcare professionals regarding antimicrobial stewardship, as well as to identify the factors that may influence their participation in interventions aimed at promoting the appropriate use of antibiotics.

Principal Investigator: Lea Godino
Research Group Members: C. Bedosti, D. Brodesco, D. Gazineo, M. Guberti, T. Lazzarotto, D. Laquintana, M.J. Rocco, L. Scardovi, A. Sili This study aims to compare the effectiveness of perineal hygiene in terms of bacterial load reduction between the use of waterless pre-moistened wipes and traditional hygiene using pre-soaped wash mitts and water. It also evaluates total material and labor time costs, as well as healthcare professionals’ and patients’ satisfaction.

Principal Investigator: Yari Longobucco
Research Group Members: G. Adriano, M. Boschetto, M. Cappellin, M. Mongardi, G. Paoletti, G. Predazzi, M. Santarsiero, F. Scola This study, based on a training intervention delivered by ANIPIO on adherence to hand hygiene best practices, aims to investigate compliance with the technique and the impact of the educational program in terms of knowledge and attitudes. Approximately 500 nurses and 150 healthcare assistants will be involved.

ANIPIO RESEARCH LINES 2018-2019
  1. 1. Randomized and controlled cross-over study on the cleaning effectiveness of a water-free hygiene technology vs traditional hygiene with water and soap for the hygiene of totally dependent patients. Interrupted due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it was resumed in 2022 (see point 2).
