As of 13 May 2022, several cases of Monkeypox virus (MPXV) have been reported by different Member States in four WHO regions (the Americas, European, Eastern Mediterranean and Western Pacific regions).
The continuous tracking of MPXV, even in normally non-endemic countries, highlights the need to better understand its source and transmission patterns, and to give people the information and support they need to protect themselves and others in different contexts. With this in view, ANIPIO has prepared below a compilation of the best evidence and a presentation (ABC of Monkeypox) listing the essential characters of this virus (downloadable below).
